Kim Kardashian has come under fire from fans for what they are calling a “mockery” of religion after sharing revealing photos in which she wore rosary beads while posing in an all-white outfit.
On Friday, the reality TV star posted pictures from her latest collaboration with Skims and Dolce & Gabbana. In the pictures, she wore an unlined balconette bra, cotton boxer shorts, and lace leggings.
She accessorised with rosary beads and a cross around her neck, pairing the look with straight, middle-parted black hair.
In the images, Kardashian posed provocatively, pulling down her boxer shorts in a way that nearly exposed her private areas, prompting strong reactions from some fans who felt uncomfortable with the use of religious symbols in such a context.
One Instagram user commented, “I don’t feel right with a rosary 📿 and this type of photo shoot ☹️,” while another questioned, “Why is she always wearing the cross when she’s half naked?” Others voiced their disapproval, asking, “Would you make a mockery out of other religions too?” and “Have you ever researched the rosary before taking a half-nude picture with it?”
Some fans went further, urging the reality star to “please don’t play with the Holy Rosary,” while another commented, “Nothing about you is holy; take the rosaries off, lol.”
Despite the backlash, Kardashian’s Skims and Dolce & Gabbana collection has been a success. The line’s launch caused the website to crash briefly due to high traffic. A few items from the collection, such as a leopard-print silk pyjama set and a catsuit, remain available.
Page Six contacted Kardashian’s representatives for comment but has not responded.
