Hezbollah launched a missile attack on Tuesday targeting central Israel, forcing residents to rush to shelters. Despite the sudden barrage, there were no reports of casualties or significant damage, according to Israeli authorities.

The Israeli military reported that five projectiles were fired from Lebanon by Hezbollah. Most of these were intercepted by Israel’s missile defence system, with one missile landing harmlessly in an open area. Israeli police confirmed that there were no injuries or damage from the attack.

In response, Israel’s military retaliated by targeting a Hezbollah naval base in Beirut. The base housed a training centre, an experimental area, and military speedboats intended for attacks on Israeli navy vessels and targets within Israel’s territorial waters, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The strike came as Iran continued its efforts to rally Gulf Arab nations, anticipating potential retaliation from Israel.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, an Australian woman faced a harrowing ordeal after becoming trapped under a 1,000-pound boulder. Her friends attempted to free her with no cell service but eventually sought professional rescue teams. Rescuers built a frame to stabilise the area and carefully hoisted the massive rock to free the woman.

Peter Watts, a specialist rescue paramedic with NSW Ambulance, described the rescue as “out-of-the-box” and noted that it was unlike anything he had experienced in his ten-year career. A series of photos released by first responders showed the woman dangling upside down by her feet, her sneakers nearby before she was successfully pulled free.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, the woman remained calm and cooperative throughout the rescue. “She was such a trooper,” Watts said, admiring her composure. The woman, identified as Campbell, later expressed her gratitude on social media, thanking the rescue team for saving her life. Unfortunately, her phone did not survive the incident.

“Too bad about the phone, though,” Campbell joked in her post, adding a light-hearted end to a severe situation.
