Elena Maraga, a 29-year-old nursery school teacher in Italy, became the center of a heated debate after her parents discovered her side gig—selling content on OnlyFans.
Now suspended from her Catholic school near Treviso, she’s standing her ground, insisting she has nothing to be ashamed of.
The controversy erupted when parents stumbled upon her profile on the adult platform and spread the news through WhatsApp groups and local Facebook pages. The school swiftly placed her on leave, stating her online activities clashed with its religious values. But Maraga isn’t backing down.
“My Salary Was Unsustainable”
With a degree in Educational Sciences and five years of teaching experience, Maraga says she adores working with children, but her €1,200 monthly paycheck wasn’t cutting it.

“That’s why I had already considered other careers,” she told Italian media. “I know friends who earn very well. I’m proud of my physical results and like showing them off.”
She opened her OnlyFans account just a month ago, partly out of curiosity, and the earnings stunned her. “In one day, I make a month’s salary,” she revealed.

Unions Back Her, But Backlash Grows
The case has ignited a national conversation in Italy, with trade unions rallying behind her.
Alvise Sponza of the CGIL FLc union argued that firing her would be unlawful since her contract doesn’t restrict legal side jobs.

Maraga admits some parents were outraged, but others have her back. “I think it was a mother or father of one of my students who recognized me from my profile photo,” she said. “But some mothers want me to keep teaching their kids.”
A dedicated bodybuilder with competition wins to her name, Maraga is already pivoting to a new career as a personal trainer—a world she believes is more open-minded.

For now, she remains unapologetic, boldly declaring on her OnlyFans profile: “I see nothing wrong with exalting one’s femininity and sensuality.”
As the debate rages on, one thing’s certain—Elena Maraga isn’t shaming anyone for hustling on her terms.
