Adult Film Star Dante Colle Fires Bullets at Cybertruck to Test ‘Bulletproof’ Claims — Here’s the Outcome
A Cybertruck owner, who decided to test the durability of Tesla’s electric vehicle by shooting at it, was left in shock when things didn’t go as planned.
Adult film star Dante Colle posted a viral video on X, where he fired a handgun at his $100,000 Cybertruck in an open field.
In the video, Colle shoots the back of the truck, leaving a noticeable hole in the exterior, and it appeared at first that the bullet had penetrated the vehicle. Visibly stunned, Colle exclaimed, “F—k!” and dropped his handgun in disbelief.
The woman behind the camera jokingly remarked, “I don’t think it’s bulletproof, Dante,” laughing at his disappointment. Upon closer inspection, while the bullet seemed to have become lodged inside the vehicle, it hadn’t fully pierced the truck. One of Colle’s friends confirmed that the round did not go through.
Determined, Colle took another shot, this time aiming at the side of the Cybertruck at an angle. In this second attempt, the bullet ricocheted, leaving a dent and scrape on the side, but once again, it did not penetrate the vehicle. Pleased with the outcome, Colle proudly declared, “It worked!”
Since its release, many have tested the durability of the Cybertruck, including online personalities.
YouTuber Zack Nelson, who runs the popular channel JerryRigEverything, uploaded a video in May where he fired multiple rounds at the truck, including from an AR-15 and a .50-caliber rifle. While the truck withstood shots from smaller firearms, more powerful rounds caused significant damage.
Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has repeatedly claimed that the Cybertruck is bulletproof, capable of withstanding gunfire.
However, during the truck’s 2019 unveiling, a demonstration went wrong. Musk had asked Tesla’s chief designer to throw a metal ball at the “bulletproof” glass, but it cracked on impact, leaving the crowd unimpressed. Despite this mishap, Tesla continued to tout the truck’s strength.
In a December redemption test, Tesla’s Cybertruck lead engineer, Wes Morrill, posted a video on the company’s YouTube channel, showing his team firing various calibers of bullets at the truck’s 1.8mm thick stainless super alloy exterior. They began with a Tommy Gun and a .45-caliber round, leaving dents but no penetration. Rounds from a 9mm Glock, an automatic MP5-SD, and even 00 buckshot from an M4 Shotgun failed to penetrate the truck.
Though the glass slightly cracked under shotgun fire, the vehicle’s interior remained intact. Morrill later posted on X, “Cybertruck has lived a tortured life for entertainment – Jumped on, kicked, burned, beaten, and shot (multiple times)… Now we’ve confirmed it’s tough, maybe Cybertruck can roam freely on and off-road in peace?”
Despite Musk’s initial failed demonstration, these tests continue to showcase the vehicle’s robust design, albeit not completely impervious to higher-caliber firearms.
