A woman who was convicted of raping and abusing children alongside a lover she met online has been found dead in her prison cell.
Rebecca Holloway, 31, was serving a 12-and-a-half-year sentence at HMP Low Newton in County Durham when she was discovered dead last month, less than five years into her jail term.
Holloway described Holloway’s crimes as some of the ‘most distressing’ he had ever encountered.
Investigators found sexual images of children in Holloway’s possession, along with a close-up photograph of girls’ underwear and sex toys. Further investigation revealed that a young girl had been raped, while a very young boy had suffered a sexual injury.
In 2018, Holloway appeared at Great Grimsby Crown Court, where she admitted to several child sexual offences, including two rapes. She was sentenced to 12 and a half years for her crimes.
On February 13, Holloway was found dead in her cell at HMP/YOI Low Newton.
