Prince Harry says he can’t bring Meghan and their kids to the UK safely after losing a legal fight over his protection.
In a BBC interview, Harry said King Charles won’t speak to him “because of the security stuff,” but he hopes they can heal things. He said life is short, and he doesn’t know how long his father has left.
Speaking from California, Harry, 40, said: “Right now, it’s not safe for me to take my family to the UK.”
He added, “I can’t bring them back. I love my country. I miss parts of it. But it’s sad I can’t show my kids my home.”
Harry had tried to change a ruling made in 2020, when he and Meghan left royal roles and lost full security. He was given a different type of protection, but called it “not enough.”
He said the Ravec group, which handles royal security, didn’t follow the rules before making the call.
Harry believes King Charles could help, though he hasn’t asked him to step in. “He let the experts do their job,” Harry said.
Sources say the King can’t interfere while the matter is still under court review. The ruling says Ravec makes final decisions, with advice from royal staff.
Harry also called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to step in, saying: “This all started with the last government. Now there’s a new one. It feels like a setup.”
He asked Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to review Ravec and its members, saying royal influence may be affecting decisions.
Cabinet minister Pat McFadden told Sky News the PM is unlikely to get involved in personal security matters, saying experts should decide.
On his strained family ties, Harry said: “There have been a lot of issues. This safety issue is the only one left now. It’s gone on for five years.”
