Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will visit Canada later this month, marking their first official trip to the country since the coronation.
The royal couple will travel to Ottawa from Monday, May 26, to Tuesday, May 27, and will attend the State Opening of the Canadian Parliament. According to Royal.uk

Canada, where King Charles is head of state, recently elected Mark Carney of the Liberal Party as prime minister following the resignation of Justin Trudeau.
The visit comes amid shifting political tensions with the U.S. and previous delays due to the King’s cancer diagnosis.

Charles has long expressed support for Canada. He previously met Mr Carney in March and wore a red tie believed to show solidarity with the country.
A palace official said, “Showing support for Canada is something he’s always done and will continue to do.”
