Scotland Police Appeal for Witnesses After 72-Year-Old Woman Dies in Three-Car Crash Near Golf Club
A 72-year-old woman has died following a three-car collision near Loudon Golf Club in Ayrshire. The accident occurred on the A71 in Galston around 5:25 p.m. on Saturday.
The woman was driving a blue Volkswagen Golf when it collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa and a green Land Rover Discovery. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The 37-year-old driver of the Corsa was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he remains in serious but stable condition. No other injuries were reported. The road was closed for several hours before reopening around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Police Scotland is seeking information to determine the circumstances of the crash. Sergeant Andrew Coutts expressed condolences to the woman’s family and urged witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
