Ruth Langsford is reportedly taking firm steps to ensure a clean break from her estranged husband, Eamonn Holmes, following their separation.

The 64-year-old Loose Women panellist is said to be keen on starting anew and has issued a final warning to Holmes to collect any remaining belongings from their former Surrey home.

Langsford, who is also 64, is allegedly seeking to avoid constant reminders of her past life with Holmes, who is currently residing in a London apartment. According to sources, Langsford is determined to create a fresh start and has even considered changing the locks on the property.

A source told Bella magazine, “Ruth wants a clean slate and has made it clear that if Eamonn does not collect his belongings soon, she will take them to a skip. Her friends have joked about holding a car boot sale to clear out the items.”

The couple, who share a 22-year-old son named Jack, announced their split three months ago after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together. Their joint statement confirmed their divorce and expressed their intention to remain friends and keep the separation amicable.

Neither Langsford nor Holmes has publicly elaborated on the reasons for their separation. Holmes has expressed gratitude for the support of fans following his return to GB News in May. He remarked, “Your support for both of us is much appreciated.”

Before their split, Langsford spoke candidly about the challenges of caring for Holmes, who has been recovering from surgery and a back injury. “It isn’t always easy,” she admitted, noting that despite ongoing physiotherapy, Holmes’s condition might not fully improve.

The former couple first met in 1995 when Langsford was introduced to Holmes by a mutual friend. Langsford joined This Morning as a guest presenter in 2000 and became a regular in 2006, later hosting alongside Holmes. The pair were replaced as the regular Friday presenters in November 2020 by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Recently, Holmes reportedly reassured Langsford after rumours surfaced about his engagement to friend Katie Alexander, quashing speculation and maintaining a respectful distance amid their separation.
