Gardaí on patrol in Loughrea, Co. Galway today stopped a dangerously overloaded vehicle after observing three children and one adult crammed into the rear of the car.
The vehicle was pulled over during routine patrol duties. Upon inspection, officers discovered that the back seat was occupied by more passengers than legally allowed, raising serious safety concerns.
The driver was issued four Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) in connection with the incident.

Authorities are reminding motorists of the importance of adhering to road safety regulations, especially when transporting children. Overloading vehicles not only breaches traffic laws but also significantly increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Gardaí say they will continue to monitor roads across the region and take appropriate action to ensure public safety.
