LIMERICK — April 12, 2025 A man in his 40s has been arrested and charged following a Garda pursuit that resulted in the seizure of a vehicle in Limerick city on Thursday evening.
According to Gardaí, the incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on April 10 in the Ballinacurra Weston area. Officers on routine patrol attempted to intercept a car that had raised suspicions.
The driver failed to stop, prompting a managed containment operation.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the driver and a passenger fled the scene on foot.
One man, in his 40s, was subsequently apprehended and charged. He is expected to appear in court at a later date. The vehicle was seized at the scene.
In a separate incident later that evening, Gardaí responded to a report of an alleged public order incident in the Garryowen area at approximately 9:20 p.m.
Officers attended the scene, but no formal complaints were received. Investigations into that matter are ongoing.
