Victor Osimhen to Face Barcelona in UCL Round of 16

Victor Osimhen and his teammates are set to encounter Barcelona, the reigning La Liga champions, in the Champions League round of 16 following Monday’s draw, as reported by M10news Sports Extra.

Napoli finished second in Group C with 10 points, eight points behind Real Madrid, with a perfect record in the group stage.

The Partenopei knew that a challenging task awaited them, as they could face Arsenal, Atlético de Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Real Sociedad, or Barcelona.

Fortunately for them, they were paired with a struggling Barcelona side without a win in their last three games.

Napoli has had a strange season, losing their manager, Luciano Spaletti, over the summer after a historic campaign in their Serie A title in 2022/23. The club from Naples has struggled to replace his charismatic presence and tactical understanding.

They began the year with Rudi Garcia at the helm. Still, they quickly moved on after a dreadful start to the season, with veteran Italian manager Walter Mazzarri taking over last month and guaranteeing qualification to the Champions League knockouts.

Currently sitting fifth in the Serie A standings, Napoli hopes to have a solid second half of the season. With the quality of Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Matteo Politano in the attack, Napoli will hope to get the better of the Catalans and move to the next phase of the competition.
