A 23-year-old British student was found dead with multiple stab wounds in her Houston apartment just days before she was due to graduate as a neonatal nurse.
Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi, originally from London, had been studying at Texas Woman’s University and was preparing to begin a career in pediatric healthcare.

Authorities were called to her residence on April 26 after concerns were raised for her well-being. Officers found blood outside the apartment and, upon entering, discovered Odunsi lying unresponsive on the kitchen floor.
. She was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained 28 stab wounds, according to local news reports.

Police found her roommate, 40-year-old Chester Lamar Grant, injured in a bedroom with a stab wound of his own.
He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and has since been charged with murder. According to local media reports, the alleged attack stemmed from a disagreement involving Grant’s cat.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support efforts to repatriate Odunsi’s body to the United Kingdom. The fundraiser describes her as a “passionate and caring young woman who had moved to the U.S. to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.

“Tami had a special love for children and always dreamed of making a difference in young lives through her future work in healthcare,” the page reads.
Beyond her studies, Odunsi was known for her joyful spirit and love for creating content that reflected her vibrant personality.

The fundraiser notes, “Tragically, Tami was brutally murdered just days before she was set to graduate from university—an unimaginable loss at a time that should have marked the beginning of a bright and promising future.”
Houston authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
