Reality star Katie Price, 46, has opened up about the staggering costs of car insurance she faces due to her troubled driving history.
In a candid interview on Rob Moore’s Disruptors podcast, Katie revealed she can no longer afford traditional car insurance after being banned from driving six times, including an 18-month ban for drink driving, which ended last October.
Katie admitted that her reputation and previous driving offences have left her virtually uninsurable, with quotes reaching £150,000 upfront and £8,000 per month.
“No insurance company will insure me because of who I am,” she explained, noting that her name often raises red flags for insurers.

The star expressed her frustration, describing the quotes as a form of discrimination, influenced by both her public image and her driving history.
She also joked with the podcast host about how her repeated bans likely contribute to the exorbitant costs.
Unable to secure insurance for her luxury cars, Katie now relies on rentals to get around.

She described her current car—a £40,000 black automatic—as a humbling experience, joking, “This grounds you.”
Despite having a Range Rover sitting unused on her driveway, Katie expressed satisfaction with her new reality, adding, “I’m not a snob, but I’m used to nice cars.”
Katie also defended her driving record, claiming that many of her offences occurred while trying to escape the paparazzi.
The star shared that she enjoys surprising people by dressing modestly while maintaining wealth.
“I’d rather look poor and have loads of money. I think that’s more endearing,” she said.
Katie has faced significant financial difficulties, including a missed bankruptcy court hearing last year, which led to her arrest at Heathrow Airport after she flew to Turkey for cosmetic surgery with her boyfriend, JJ Slater.
On a brighter note, reports suggest Katie is planning a joint TV show with Kerry Katona following their success in a festive pantomime. Having moved in with Katona, Katie may be gearing up for a fresh chapter in her career.
While her driving troubles persist, Katie seems determined to embrace the challenges with humor and resilience.
