Australian tennis player Arina Rodionova announced her divorce from former Australian Football League player Ty Vickery in a quirky Instagram video on Wednesday.
The announcement came shortly after her elimination from the Australian Open Qualifiers, marking a significant turning point in her personal and professional life.
“Hey guys, we have a quick announcement to make, we’re getting divorced,” Rodionova said casually in the video, as Vickery sat in the background eating a banana.

In her post, Rodionova wrote, “Life happens. We have lots of love for each other, but sometimes it’s not enough.”
She revealed the couple had been separated for a year, a fact known to family and friends, but decided it was time to share the news with her 25,000 social media followers.
Vickery chimed in during the announcement, saying, “We’re good, we’re good with each other, wish each other the best,” before the two shared an awkward laugh.

The video ended with Rodionova taking the banana from Vickery, further highlighting their lighthearted approach to the split.
Shortly after the announcement, Rodionova teased her OnlyFans debut, a move hinted at in recent Instagram posts featuring risqué content. On January 12, she announced the launch of her account, writing, “Good news for everyone who was asking.
My OnlyFans account was confirmed, so here we go. Let’s do this.”

Her profile on the platform playfully describes her as a tennis player “but a fun one.”
Rodionova previously joked about the suggestion to join OnlyFans during a vlog appearance, calling it “the best compliment” she received that year.
The 35-year-old Russian-born athlete experienced a modest singles career, achieving a career-high WTA ranking of 184.

She found more tremendous success in doubles, reaching the quarterfinals at the Australian Open in both women’s and mixed doubles.
Rodionova was also the highest-ranked Australian woman during her brief stint in the WTA Top 100, though her career highlights on the court have since been overshadowed by her foray into online content creation.

Rodionova and Vickery married in December 2015, just hours after she secured a wildcard spot in the 2016 Australian Open Qualifying Tournament. Their separation comes nearly nine years later, following reports of their split circulating among fans after her OnlyFans announcement.

Rodionova recently bid farewell to Australia in an Instagram Story from an airplane, writing, “Bye Australia, love you always,” while noting she spared her followers the clichéd breakup quotes.
As she embarks on her new career, Rodionova appears to be embracing change with humor and confidence, leaving fans curious about her next chapter.
