Experience an Exotic Family Holiday at the French Riviera Campsite, Just 2.5 Hours Away!

The South of France evokes ideas of exotic appeal.

Glamorous people, gorgeous beaches, sparkling blue waters, and opulent yachts are some of the region’s most well-known features.

The South of France is known for its magnificence and beauty, from the luxury of Monaco to the stylish vibe of St. Tropez.

However, campsites aren’t typically at the forefront of one’s mind when envisioning the French Riviera. Yet, my family’s experience at the La Baume campsite on the Cote d’Azur last summer completely shattered that perception.

Located just a few kilometers outside the picturesque port city of Frejus, La Baume offers everything needed for a fantastic family holiday.

With five waterslides, five family pools, and a dedicated splash pool for toddlers, the swimming areas are strategically divided across the site to provide variety and excitement.

Our accommodation for the week was a charming three-bedroom, air-conditioned mobile home nestled amidst pa⁸lm trees.

Equipped with modern amenities and a spacious decking area that served as an additional lounge and dining space, our mobile home provided both comfort and convenience.

The campsite offers a plethora of activities ranging from archery to tennis to football, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Additionally, a wellness centre with a jacuzzi and sauna provides a perfect opportunity for relaxation.

In the evenings, live entertainment and discos cater to both children and adults, adding to the overall lively atmosphere of the campsite.

My three children, aged three, six, and nine, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the exciting activities to the delicious food.

While the campsite itself offers everything one could need, it would be remiss not to explore the local area and sample its delights. Conveniently located amenities such as a supermarket, restaurants, bars, and shops make it easy to enjoy a hassle-free vacation without straying far from the site.

What truly impressed me about La Baume was how accessible and affordable it made the Riviera.

Flying into Nice airport and renting a car proved to be a hassle-free option, opening up a whole section of the coast that I had assumed to be financially out of bounds.

From the port of Frejus to nearby St Raphael, and even day trips to Cannes, St Tropez, Antibes, and Nice, the possibilities for exploration are endless.

Moreover, the region boasts numerous beautiful beaches, with Villefranche-sur-Mer being a standout destination.

For those seeking additional thrills beyond the campsite’s amenities, the nearby Aqualand Waterpark offers an exhilarating experience that will surely delight children and adults alike. In essence, La Baume provides an ideal base for experiencing the best South of France offers, combining convenience, affordability, and endless entertainment options for the whole family.

Exploring the local area revealed a treasure trove of cultural and culinary delights. The port cities of Frejus and St Raphael offer charming historic quarters, bustling markets, and delectable seafood restaurants overlooking the Mediterranean Sea

It’s a joy to wander through narrow cobblestone streets lined with vibrant boutiques and cafes, soaking in the laid-back atmosphere of the French Riviera.

As you venture further on your vacation, you can take day trips to iconic destinations like Cannes, known for its glamorous film festival and designer boutiques, and St. Tropez, with its bustling harbour and celebrity sightings, to add a touch of star-studded glamour to your trip. Antibes, with its Picasso Museum and stunning Old Town, offers a cultural escape steeped in history.

Nice, the capital of the French Riviera, is a must-visit destination renowned for its Promenade des Anglais, colourful markets, and vibrant nightlife. You can stroll along the waterfront, admiring the picturesque views of the azure sea and the iconic pebble beaches that have inspired artists and writers for centuries.

For nature enthusiasts, the nearby Esterel Massif offers endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring rugged coastal trails with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline. Discover hidden coves and secluded beaches nestled among the rocky cliffs, perfect for a peaceful day of sunbathing and snorkelling in crystal-clear waters.

Back at La Baume campsite, the sense of community and camaraderie among fellow campers adds to the overall charm of the experience.

Whether sharing stories around a campfire, joining in a friendly game of volleyball, or simply relaxing by the poolside with a refreshing cocktail, there’s a sense of kinship that transcends language and culture.

Our week-long stay at La Baume campsite was extraordinary.

From the thrilling water slides to the tranquil moments spent lounging on our mobile home’s deck, every aspect of our holiday was filled with joy and relaxation.

The French Riviera exceeded our expectations, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and family-friendly fun. We returned home with hearts full of memories and a longing to return to this paradise on earth.
