Star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Dolores Catania revealed she is ready to resume her Ozempic injections after indulging during her summer travels.
Speaking to Page Six at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Catania disclosed that she’s “overdue” for her next dose.

“I am taking my shot tomorrow,” Catania, 53, said. She admitted to gaining about 20 pounds due to her travels, which included trips to South Africa and Lisbon, Portugal. “I just got back yesterday,” she added, emphasising her urgency to get back on track with the medication.

Catania defended her decision to use Ozempic, a drug commonly prescribed for Type 2 diabetes but also used off-label for weight loss. She noted, “I’ve done the research, spoken to so many doctors, and I haven’t had one doctor personally say to me, ‘It’s bad for you.’”

She also mentioned that thanks to Ozempic, her boyfriend, Paul Connell, has experienced significant health improvements, including a 50-pound weight loss and the cessation of blood pressure medication.

Despite her positive experience, Catania acknowledged that the drug has been controversial. Critics have raised concerns about potential side effects.

Sharon Osbourne has reported excessive weight loss from the medication, while Lottie Moss recently faced severe dehydration and a seizure due to high doses. Additionally, a recent study linked Ozempic to 162 deaths in the U.S.

Catania’s openness about her Ozempic use follows her previous statements about using the drug for medical reasons, including menopause, thyroid issues, and inflammation, which she claimed made weight loss particularly challenging.
