A British man has died after being stabbed outside a nightclub on the Spanish coast early this morning. The incident occurred before the Oxygen Club in Calella, a seaside resort approximately 30 miles from Barcelona.
Local media reported that a fight broke out outside the nightclub, resulting in the fatal stabbing of a 31-year-old tourist of English origin. The man died at the scene.
A second victim was also injured in the altercation and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. His condition has not been disclosed.
A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing. While his identity has not been confirmed, police sources indicated that detectives traced him using CCTV footage from the nightclub.
The authorities interviewed several bystanders who had witnessed the fight.
Later in the morning, Spanish authorities were in the process of contacting British officials to inform the victim’s family of the tragic news.
In a separate incident, another man was stabbed during a fight near Barcelona’s iBarcelona’sda Familia church just hours after the nightclub incident. The victim, identified as being of North African origin, sustained a severe leg injury but is expected to recover.
