Angelina Jolie made a stunning return to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet on Friday, marking her first appearance at the prestigious event in 14 years.
The Oscar-winning actress, 49, attended the premiere of Eddington — a star-studded film featuring Emma Stone, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Joaquin Phoenix — wearing a radiant, strapless embroidered gown by Brunello Cucinelli.

The bespoke creation, crafted entirely from cashmere and silk and adorned with sequins, showcased Jolie’s signature elegance.
While the exact cost of the gown remains undisclosed, Brunello Cucinelli is known for its ultra-luxurious materials and premium pricing, placing Jolie’s outfit among the evening’s most exquisite.

To complete the look, the Maleficent star wore sparkling diamond jewellery from Chopard, including a statement necklace featuring a pear-shaped centre stone and coordinating earrings.
Jolie was joined on the red carpet by actors Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett, as well as Chopard co-president Caroline Scheufele.
The Hollywood icon has been named the godmother of this year’s Trophée Chopard Award — an honour bestowed upon emerging talent at the festival. She is expected to mentor the award’s recipients throughout the year.

Previous winners of the Trophée Chopard include Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and John Boyega, with past godparents ranging from Demi Moore and Julianne Moore to Robert De Niro and Sean Penn.
Friday’s appearance marks Jolie’s first return to Cannes since 2011, when she attended with then-partner Brad Pitt. These days, she has expanded her presence beyond film into the world of fashion, launching her brand Atelier Jolie in 2023. The artist-driven collective features a flagship location in New York City and hosts creative workshops.

While Jolie often wears her own label’s designs for red carpet events and editorial shoots, she opted for an external designer for this year’s festival — a choice that turned heads and drew widespread acclaim.
With the world watching, all eyes are now on what the actress-turned-fashion-entrepreneur will wear next.
