Celine Dion is reportedly set to make her music comeback at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony this Friday, earning a substantial $2 million for performing one song, according to TMZ. Variety first reported on Dion’s rumoured performance.

The Grammy winner, who has been away from the spotlight due to her stiff person syndrome diagnosis, was recently seen in Paris at the Royal Monceau Hotel, surrounded by fans.
Rumours also suggest Lady Gaga might perform at the opening ceremony and is staying near Dion’s hotel. The Post has reached out to Dion’s representative for comment.
Dion, who previously performed “The Power of the Dream” at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics opening ceremony, almost revealed her 2024 performance plans to Hoda Kotb during an interview for NBC News. Kotb recalled how Dion nearly let it slip when asked about her next performance.

Dion has remained mostly out of the public eye since her 2021 diagnosis of stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder causing severe muscle spasms, leading her to cancel her Courage world tour last year.

However, Dion expressed her determination to return to the stage in her interview with Kotb, stating, “I’m going to go back onstage, even if I have to crawl.”

Her struggles with the condition and her journey back to performing are detailed in the Prime Video documentary, “I Am Celine Dion.” Dion revealed to NBC News the challenges she faced, including a near overdose on prescribed Valium meant to control her symptoms.

Despite her health issues, Dion made a rare public appearance at the documentary’s premiere in New York City last month, expressing deep gratitude to her fans. “This is my love letter to each of you. I hope to see you all again soon,” she said emotionally.
