74-Year-Old Pennsylvania Man Arrested for Alleged Threats to Kill Former President Trump Ahead of Penn State Rally
University Park, PA, Oct. 31 — A 74-year-old man was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill former President Donald Trump just a day before his rally at Penn State University, expressing a desire to shoot him. Paul J. Gavenonis was taken into custody after making the threats while attempting to purchase a parking pass at the university’s transportation office last Friday.
According to reports from WTAJ, Gavenonis was overheard stating, “I hate Donald Trump. I’d like to shoot that guy,” while mimicking a gun-racking motion with his hand. He further elaborated on his alleged intentions, discussing plans to climb to the top of a building and expressing concern that “you can’t take a gun in or the students will see it,” as detailed in the arrest affidavit.
Gavenonis has been charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. The incident highlights ongoing tensions surrounding political figures and the extreme reactions they can provoke in certain individuals. Authorities are continuing to assess the situation in light of the recent threats.
