A woman in her 20s was found dead at a residence on Woodthorpe Road in Ashford, Surrey, yesterday.
Police officers, responding to concerns about the welfare of individuals inside the property, declared the woman dead at the scene.
A two-year-old girl, also found at the address, sustained very serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Her condition remains unclear, according to the latest updates.
A man in his 30s, who was known to the victims, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Detectives have assured the public that there is no wider risk to the community.
DCI Kimball Edey, leading the investigation, stated: “This investigation is in its early stages, and a team of specialist officers are working tirelessly to gather as much information as possible.”
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims during this unbelievably difficult time,” Edey added.
