Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71, his family has confirmed.
The WWE Hall of Famer, born Terry Bollea, passed away on Tuesday morning in Clearwater, Florida, following reports of a suspected cardiac arrest. Emergency services were called to his home, and he was transported to hospital, but he could not be revived.

His family confirmed the death to Us Weekly. No official cause has been released.
Hogan, widely regarded as one of the most recognisable names in wrestling history, rose to fame during the 1980s and became a central figure in the rise of WWE as a global brand.
The Georgia-born entertainer made his wrestling debut in 1977 and shot to stardom after signing with Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation. With his red-and-yellow persona, dramatic entrances, and signature moves, Hogan became a fixture in the cultural mainstream.

He headlined the first WrestleMania events and held the WWE Championship five times. His feuds with André the Giant and Randy Savage are considered among the most iconic in sports entertainment history.

Away from the ring, Hogan appeared in films including Rocky III and starred in his own reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best.
WWE said in a statement:
“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
Fellow wrestling star Ric Flair paid tribute online, writing:
“I am absolutely shocked to hear about the passing of my close friend @HulkHogan. He was always there for me—even when I didn’t ask. Hulkster, no one will ever compare to you.”
Hogan had reportedly undergone major heart surgery in June. An insider told Us Weekly at the time that he was recovering well.
He is survived by his children, Brooke and Nick.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
