Jerusalem, Israel — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the first global leaders to congratulate former President Donald Trump on his dramatic political comeback after he was projected to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election early Wednesday morning.

Netanyahu, who is currently leading Israel’s fight against Iranian-backed forces across multiple fronts, posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) expressing his joy over Trump’s victory: “Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory! In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.”

In addition to Netanyahu, numerous world leaders weighed in on Trump’s win. French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated the former U.S. president with a message on X: “Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has been at the forefront of Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression, shared his congratulations, recalling his meeting with Trump in September.
