Jerusalem, Israel — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the first global leaders to congratulate former President Donald Trump on his dramatic political comeback after he was projected to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election early Wednesday morning.

Netanyahu, who is currently leading Israel’s fight against Iranian-backed forces across multiple fronts, posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) expressing his joy over Trump’s victory: “Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a huge victory! In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.”

In addition to Netanyahu, numerous world leaders weighed in on Trump’s win. French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated the former U.S. president with a message on X: “Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a staunch ally of Trump and a proponent of strict border control policies, also offered his congratulations, calling it “the biggest comeback in U.S. political history!” He added, “Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump on his enormous win. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the enduring relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, stating, “The US-UK special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.” Starmer also congratulated Trump, saying, “Congratulations President-elect @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has been at the forefront of Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression, shared his congratulations, recalling his meeting with Trump in September.
Zelenskyy praised Trump’s “peace through strength” approach, adding, “I am hopeful that we will put it into action together. We look forward to a strong United States of America era under President Trump’s decisive leadership.”
