F-16 fighter jets were dispatched on Sunday after a civilian aircraft breached the no-fly zone above President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, marking the second security breach in just 48 hours, according to NORAD.
The aircraft entered the restricted airspace at approximately 1:15 p.m., prompting military jets to release flares to alert the pilot. The aircraft was subsequently escorted away from the area.
The no-fly zone is part of ongoing security protocols in place at the Palm Beach property, often referred to as the “Southern White House”, where Trump frequently spends weekends.

In a statement, NORAD reported that since the January 20, 2025, presidential inauguration, they have responded to over 20 incidents involving unauthorized aircraft violating the temporary flight restrictions in the region.
Both recent airspace intrusions took place while Trump was at the estate, raising concerns about repeated security challenges.
