A woman has been arrested after a video of a prison officer having se** with an inmate went viral on social media.
The video, supposedly filmed recently inside a jail cell at HMP Wandsworth, showed a woman wearing a uniform performing a se** act on a man before having se** with him.
The Metropolitan Police began its investigation on Friday and have now revealed that a woman was arrested on the same day.
The woman, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and she is still in police custody.
Police say they are ‘in close contact’ with the Ministry of Justice.
Footage showed the officer having sex with the prisoner while his cellmate filmed on his phone. The prisoner filming the act can say, “Guys, we’ve made history; this is what I’m telling you.”
At one point, someone appears to try to enter the cell, and the man filming can be heard telling them, “Give me a minute, one second.”
The prisoner then tells his friend to carry on and then pans the camera around to his face, revealing to the viewer, “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”
“You know you’re gangster, innit!” he tells his friend.
It is unknown when exactly the incident took place, and the woman in the video no longer works at the prison, it has been confirmed.
The latest statement from the Met says: “A police investigation was launched on June 28 after officers were made aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth. A woman was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on June 28. She has been taken into police custody.
“Enquiries continue. We remain in close contact with the Ministry of Justice.”
A spokesman for HMP Prison Service said, “Staff corruption is not tolerated and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to the police.
“It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.”
