Tyler Herro scores 26 points in Miami Heat’s victory
The Miami Heat secured their fourth straight victory with a 114-102 win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, despite missing several key players. Tyler Herro led the Heat with 26 points and seven rebounds, while Bam Adebayo and Jaime Jaquez Jr. each contributed 17 points.
The Heat were without star forward Jimmy Butler, who missed his fourth consecutive game due to a strained left calf, and Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, and Josh Richardson. The team kicked off a five-game West Coast swing with the win.
The Warriors, who had won eight straight games at Chase Center, were held to 42% shooting and 24.2% from beyond the arc, with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scoring 13 points each. Curry was born off the board until he hit a 3-pointer with 3:44 remaining in the second quarter, and the Warriors dropped back under .500 overall at 15-16.
Despite the Heat’s depleted roster, coach Erik Spoelstra praised his team’s effort, energy, toughness, and physicality. Miami held a slight 44-43 advantage on the glass, an area of the game that Spoelstra hopes will remain strong during their road trip.
The Heat will face the Utah Jazz on Saturday, while the Warriors will host the Dallas Mavericks.
