Two British holidaymakers have been left in a critical condition in Ibiza after being hit by a car in the early hours of the morning.
The women, aged 26 and 27, both sustained severe injuries, including head trauma and multiple fractures, in the collision.
One victim was rushed to the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinic, where she remains in intensive care. The second was taken to Can Misses Hospital, the island’s main public facility.
Emergency services said the crash occurred shortly before 2 am on the EI-600 road linking Ibiza Town with San Antonio, in an area known locally as Can Guillemo.

The driver, a 24-year-old Spaniard, stopped at the scene and was breathalysed by police. Officers confirmed he passed the alcohol test, but it is not yet known if he underwent drug screening.
Initial reports incorrectly identified the victims as a man and a woman before authorities confirmed both were female.
Medical staff at the Rosario Polyclinic described the condition of the younger woman, 26, as extremely serious. She is being treated for brain trauma, chest injuries, broken ribs, fractures to both legs and widespread contusions.
Can Misses Hospital has not yet provided an update on the 27-year-old’s condition.
The Civil Guard confirmed the women were pedestrians when they were struck. Investigators are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
A spokesman said: “Both are British nationals and both are in a serious condition. The accident happened at 1.50 am on the EI-600 road between Ibiza and San Antonio.”
The road where the incident occurred is a busy stretch connecting two of the island’s main resorts and has seen several recent serious accidents involving tourists.
Earlier this month, another British visitor, a 31-year-old man, was left fighting for his life after being hit by a car in San Antonio.
That incident took place on Doctor Fleming Avenue in the early hours of August 11.
He suffered a traumatic brain injury along with chest and shoulder damage before being taken to the same private clinic now treating one of the two women.
Hospital officials later confirmed he had been stabilised in intensive care following emergency treatment at the scene.
The Rosario Polyclinic has been at the centre of several recent tourist emergencies, including the death of a 25-year-old British man last month who fell from a supermarket car park in San Antonio.
Ibiza’s Civil Guard has urged motorists to take extra care on busy night-time roads, particularly in resort areas where pedestrians are common.
The investigation into the latest crash remains ongoing.
