Trump Urges Republicans to Embrace Early Voting in “Swamp The Vote USA” Effort

Former President Trump urges Republicans to use all available tools to defeat Democrats, including early voting and absentee balloting.

His 2024 campaign and the Republican National Committee have launched the “Swamp The Vote USA” effort, marking a significant departure from Trump’s previous stance on early voting and mail-in balloting.

In a statement, Trump emphasized the importance of Republicans winning and vowed to protect the integrity of the vote, regardless of the voting method.

He urged supporters to make a plan, register, and vote in any way possible to ensure their voices are heard and to prevent Democratic cheating.

Historically, Democrats have tended to vote early, while Republicans have favored Election Day voting.

Despite Trump’s previous criticisms of early voting, the Republican National Committee had launched an early-voting initiative known as “Bank the Vote” under previous chair Ronna McDaniel.

Trump’s stance on early voting has been inconsistent in recent months, with him previously condemning it as “corrupt” and likening it to “stealing” the vote at rallies.

However, he has also encouraged supporters to utilize early voting methods.

The “Swamp The Vote USA” initiative is part of the broader Trump Force 47 program, which aims to mobilize targeted voters in critical precincts across battleground states.

This effort is designed to strengthen Trump’s grassroots outreach and get-out-the-vote efforts as he and the RNC work to catch up with the Biden campaign and the Democratic National Committee in ground game operations.

Despite Trump’s strong fundraising and polling numbers in key battleground states, there is a deficit in ground game operations that the campaign seeks to address through initiatives like “Swamp The Vote USA.”

In recent months, Trump has emphasized the importance of early voting on social media, despite his previous criticisms of the practice. He has urged supporters to “get an absentee or mail-in ballot, vote early or vote on Election Day” at rallies.

The launch of “Swamp The Vote USA” comes as Trump and the RNC aim to close the gap with the Biden campaign and the DNC in grassroots outreach and get-out-the-vote efforts. Trump’s conviction in the first criminal trial of a current or former president has spurred a surge in fundraising for his campaign.

While Trump holds the edge over Biden in the latest polling in key battleground states, there is still work to be done in ground game operations. The success of initiatives like “Swamp The Vote USA” will be crucial in mobilizing voters and securing victory for Republicans in the upcoming election.
