President Biden addressed the nation for the first time since withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race.
Speaking from the Oval Office on Wednesday night, Biden delivered a ten-minute speech in which he expressed his deep respect for the presidency but stated, “I love my country more.”
Biden’s decision follows significant pressure from within his own party, driven by concerns over his performance in a contentious debate last month.
Former President Donald Trump slammed President Biden’s White House speech Wednesday, calling it “barely understandable.”
“Crooked Joe Biden’s Oval Office speech was barely understandable, and sooo bad!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“CROOKED JOE BIDEN AND LYIN’ KAMALA HARRIS ARE A GREAT EMBARRASSMENT TO AMERICA — THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A TIME LIKE THIS!” the 78-year-old GOP presidential nominee said in a follow-up post.
