Trump Savages VP Kamala Harris During Wisconsin Speech
Former President Trump savaged Vice President Harris as “mentally impaired” as he took the border “czar” to task during a long and graphic campaign stemwinder in Wisconsin on Saturday
Trump criticised Harris’s role as the Biden administration’s border “czar” and blamed her for what he described as the deteriorating situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way … only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd. He went on to call Harris a “very dumb person,” drawing applause from the audience.
The speech, which primarily focused on immigration, highlighted one of Trump’s key campaign issues. During his remarks, Trump shared graphic accounts of what he claimed were the dangers posed by illegal immigration.
He recounted an incident in Prairie du Chien, where police recently arrested a Venezuelan national accused of violent crimes.
“Just this month, right here in this beautiful town, police arrested an illegal alien, member of a savage Venezuelan prison gang,” Trump said, referring to the arrest of Alejandro Jose Coronel Zarate, 26, who faces charges of sexually and physically assaulting a woman and holding her and her minor daughter captive.
“This vile monster was charged with holding a mother and daughter captive against their will and sexually assaulting them again and again,” Trump continued, accusing Harris of enabling such incidents through her immigration policies. “This animal crossed Kamala’s wide-open border, along with hundreds of thousands of others that are worse than him.”
Trump further warned that Harris’s policies were allowing dangerous criminals to enter the country unchecked. “She’s letting in people who are going to walk into your house, break through your door, and they’ll do anything they want.
These people are animals,” he said, adding, “They make our criminals look like babies. These are stone-cold killers.”
Polls in swing states, including Wisconsin, have shown increasing concern among voters about the direction of the country, with many fearing that the U.S. could be at risk of becoming a failed state.
Trump’s speech reflected this anxiety as he attempted to rally his base around the issues of immigration and border security.
Trump shifted to other familiar topics during his remarks, including election integrity. He vowed to take decisive action against anyone who attempts to interfere with the 2024 election, saying, “If we win and when we win, we’re going to prosecute people that cheat on this election. And if we can, we’ll also return to the last one.” He emphasised the importance of solid borders and fair elections, arguing that the country has neither.
Trump also accused Harris of promoting radical policies, including the legalization of the deadly drug fentanyl. “She’s so radical, she even wants to legalize fentanyl right away,” Trump claimed, before highlighting the drug’s deadly impact.
“Fentanyl will kill you with just a little bit on the top of a pin,” he said, adding that he knows many people who have lost loved ones to the drug.
The former president briefly addressed the legal troubles of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who was recently charged with bribery, wire fraud, and conspiracy.
Trump suggested that Adams became a target because of his opposition to the migrant crisis in New York. “Look what’s happened in New York,” Trump said.
“They went after the mayor of New York because he was saying, ‘We can’t do this. We can’t do that.’ They just indicted him,” he remarked, describing Adams’ prosecutors as “vicious monsters in our government.”
Earlier in the day, Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, also spoke at the event, pledging a “compassionate” approach to border security and immigration reform.
