President Trump disclosed in an interview that former President Joe Biden attributed the Democrats’ crushing defeat in the 2024 election to former President Barack Obama.
Trump explained that during a visit to the White House, he met with an angry Biden shortly after Trump’s electoral victory over Vice President Kamala Harris—who had stepped in for Biden after concerns over his age and capabilities forced him from the race.

During the meeting, Trump recalled asking, “So who do you blame?” to which an incensed Biden responded by saying, “I blame Barack.”
He added that he held former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responsible, notably sparing the vice president from any blame.

Trump emphasised, “He didn’t blame [Harris].
He blamed… those two people,” underscoring that Biden’s frustration was directed solely at Obama and Pelosi.
Earlier, Obama had encouraged Democratic allies to remain supportive of Biden following a disastrous debate performance on June 27.
However, by mid-July, Biden’s longtime friend reportedly turned against him amid growing concerns regarding his mental and physical fitness.

The former 44th president had even met with Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to deliberate over these escalating worries.
At 82, Biden exited the race on July 21 and swiftly endorsed Kamala Harris, who ultimately could not overcome Trump despite a frantic campaign trail lasting only a few months.
Biden had previously acknowledged that Pelosi and other party elites had effectively nudged him out of seeking a second term, though he had refrained from casting blame on Barack Obama.
