Grand Rapids, MI – In the early hours of Election Day, former President Donald Trump made a last appeal to his supporters to turn out and vote, closing his campaign with a midnight rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at the Van Andel Arena, Trump reflected on the campaign’s intensity and pledged to deliver a brighter future for the nation and Michigan’s workforce. “This has been an incredible journey,” Trump said. “It’s unfortunate because this is the last rally, but here’s the good news—we’re putting ourselves in a position to win, which we can do tomorrow if we all show up.”
Trump, the Republican nominee, emphasised Michigan’s importance to his strategy, recalling his narrow win in the state in 2016. He assured autoworkers and residents of a revitalised economy and manufacturing sector under his leadership, promising, “We’re going to bring the car business blazing back. We’re going to make Detroit greater than it ever was.”
The 78-year-old former president predicted a significant victory, expressing confidence in defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. He nonetheless urged Michigan voters to ensure their voices are heard, adding, “If we win Michigan, we win the whole thing.”
Trump used the rally to outline key issues, vowing to combat inflation, secure the southern border, and bolster America’s military strength. “We’re going to turn our country around,” he pledged. “I will end inflation quickly, strengthen our military, restore peace, and rescue the American dream.” He predicted his policies would result in “the most extraordinary economic boom the world has ever seen.”
Polls indicate a close race between Trump and Harris, making voter turnout crucial in key battleground states like Michigan. To close his speech, Trump directly appealed: “To every citizen of this land, I am asking for the honour of your vote. When you vote tomorrow, we can fix every problem our country faces and lead America to new heights of glory.”
