The latest CNN poll reveals that nearly two-thirds of registered voters view Joe Biden’s presidency as a failure thus far, with Donald Trump maintaining a significant lead in the race for the White House.
According to the poll conducted by SSRS and released on Sunday, 49% of registered voters favour Trump over Biden’s 43% in a head-to-head matchup, marking a shift from Biden’s 45% support in January.

Moreover, the poll indicates that 61% of registered voters perceive Biden’s presidency as a failure, compared to 57% in January. Conversely, only 39% view it as successful, a slight decrease from the 41% approval rating earlier in the year.
Interestingly, 17% of respondents express dissatisfaction with both Biden and Trump.
The report highlights a growing unity among Republicans regarding Trump’s presidency as successful, contrasting with Democrats’ less unanimous perception of Biden’s tenure.
Specifically, 92% of Republicans deem Trump’s time in office successful, while only 73% of Democrats view Biden’s presidency positively. Among independents, 51% consider Trump’s presidency successful, while only 37% hold the same view of Biden’s.
Biden receives meager ratings on the economy and inflation, with 34% and 29% approval ratings, respectively. Notably, 62% of those prioritizing the economy lean towards supporting Trump.

Immigration, crime, and gun policy emerge as top concerns for 48% of voters polled, overshadowing issues like health care, abortion, and Supreme Court nominations.
Despite policy considerations, registered voters exhibit unfavourable views towards both candidates, with 58% holding an unfavourable opinion of Biden and 55% expressing similar sentiments towards Trump.
Moreover, a majority of voters, 53%, express dissatisfaction with the current choice of candidates.
These findings coincide with Trump’s ongoing trial in Manhattan on charges related to falsifying business records, particularly allegations of hush payments to Stormy Daniels in 2016.
In addition to CNN’s poll, a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released last week suggests Trump’s lead over Biden by 7% in four key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.
Furthermore, Trump’s enduring popularity among voters is underscored by his consistent lead in key battleground states, as evidenced by the Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll.
Despite ongoing legal challenges, his support remains robust in crucial states such as Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.
Amidst these shifting sentiments, both parties are gearing up for the upcoming elections, strategising to secure crucial victories and sway undecided voters. With the political landscape in flux and public opinion divided, the race for the White House promises to be fiercely contested, with each candidate vying to capture the hearts and minds of the American electorate.
