Handwriting Expert Speaks Out
A handwriting analyst has claimed that a controversial message linked to Jeffrey Epstein was “absolutely” signed by US President Donald Trump.
Distinctive Signature Analysis
Graphologist Emma Bache compared the handwriting to Trump’s autographs from the early 2000s and concluded: “It is very much the signature he had in that period. I can absolutely say it is Donald Trump’s.”
Documents Handed to Congress
The disputed pages were among Epstein-related materials submitted to the US Congress, appearing to show birthday tributes from both Trump and Britain’s ambassador to Washington, Peter Mandelson.
Messages in Epstein’s ‘Birthday Book’
The collection included a drawing of a woman’s body marked “Donald,” a photograph of Epstein holding an oversized cheque signed “DJTRUMP,” and a message suggesting Mandelson considered Epstein his “best pal.”
White House Dismisses Claim
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected the authenticity of the material, saying Trump “did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.” She added that Trump’s legal team is “aggressively pursuing litigation.”
Analyst Challenges Denial
Bache, however, stood by her analysis. She said the “o” in “Donald” was a distinctive circle and pointed to a long horizontal stroke that was “absolutely identical” to Trump’s historical signatures.
Identical Strokes and Letters
“The capital D is also unique,” she said, noting it matched letters Trump wrote in 1996 and 2000. She described the match as identical in pressure, length, and formation.
Files Originated with Maxwell
The birthday book was compiled in 2003 by Epstein’s close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, to mark his 50th birthday.
Legal Pushback Continues
The White House stressed that Trump’s lawyers are continuing lawsuits against outlets that have reported on the birthday book, including the Wall Street Journal.
Expert: ‘Impossible to Forge’
Bache argued the signature was almost impossible to fake. “It’s a very confident, very speedy signature. Forgeries are slower and lack natural rhythm,” she explained.
Trump’s Modern Signature Compared
She observed that Trump’s signature has become more angular in recent years, but still retains recognisable traits.
Aggression in Handwriting
According to Bache, the sharp angles in his modern signature signal energy and assertiveness. “His communication style is one of ‘you will listen to me, and I am right,’” she said.
Mandelson’s Contribution Emerges
The files also appeared to show a message from Lord Mandelson, who referred to Epstein as his “best pal” and described him as taking friends by surprise in “one of his glorious homes (yum yum).”
Embassy Declines Fresh Comment
The British embassy in Washington referred questions back to previous remarks from Mandelson, who has said he regrets ever meeting Epstein.
Past Reports of Epstein Links
A 2019 banking report suggested Mandelson stayed at Epstein’s New York apartment in 2009 while the financier was serving a jail sentence.
Renewed Scrutiny in London
The latest disclosures have fuelled further debate over Mandelson’s links to Epstein and whether political figures downplayed their connections.
Trump’s Denials Expected
Bache commented that Trump’s rejection of the signature was predictable. “He has an awful lot to lose, but it doesn’t change my analysis,” she said.
Political Fallout Widens
The revelations are set to reignite controversy in both Washington and London as fresh attention falls on Epstein’s network of associates.
Victims’ Justice Still Central
Campaigners insist the focus must remain on ensuring Epstein’s victims receive justice, even as political fallout continues on both sides of the Atlantic.
