Speaking at a campaign rally in Wisconsin, Trump referred to the protesters as “raging lunatics and Hamas sympathisers,” praising the police for their rapid response.
Trump recounted the events, describing how protesters erected an encampment on the CUNY campus and illegally took over an academic building at Columbia.
He commended the NYPD for their efficiency, highlighting their efforts to intervene and restore order safely within two hours.
Approximately 300 protesters were arrested during the police raids on the two campuses.
This rally marked Trump’s first major campaign event since the start of his Manhattan criminal trial related to alleged hush money payments made to Adult star Stormy Daniels.
He denounced the indictments as an assault on the constitutional rights of all Americans and vowed to fight them.
