Former President Donald Trump received a warm welcome from fans as he arrived at the Alabama vs. Georgia football game on Saturday.

The crowd in the stadium concourse at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, cheered and chanted “USA!” as Trump tossed popcorn boxes to well-wishers standing behind a protective steel gate.

Trump’s appearance was captured in a video shared by his advisor, Dan Scavino Jr., showing the enthusiastic moment. Alabama went on to win the game 41-34, with Trump watching from a luxury box as a guest of the team boosters. The ABC broadcast later showed him standing in the suite as Alabama took an early 28-7 lead.

Before attending the game, Trump had flown in from Wisconsin, where he had delivered a fiery campaign speech. In his address, he criticised Vice President Kamala Harris for her handling of the migrant crisis, calling her “mentally impaired” and claiming illegal migrants were wreaking havoc in the state.

“I’ll take care of that situation, and fast!” Trump declared on Truth Social before kick-off. He also aimed at Harris, suggesting she should resign or be impeached.

Harris’ campaign seized the moment by airing an ad during the game, challenging Trump’s reluctance to participate in a second presidential debate.

The ad declared, “Winners never back down from a challenge. Champions know it’s anytime, anyplace.”

The Harris campaign also planned to fly a plane over the stadium with a banner reading “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate,” but the flight was cancelled due to weather conditions, according to The Washington Post. Despite the setback, Harris’ campaign capitalised on Trump’s appearance at the high-profile event.
