President Donald Trump has ignited a fresh political firestorm by calling for the prosecution of former Vice President Kamala Harris and celebrities Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Rev. Al Sharpton over what he claims were illegal payments during the 2024 presidential campaign.
In a heated post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump alleged that Harris’ campaign made multi-million dollar payments to the trio for their public appearances and support—asserting the financial transactions were unlawful endorsements.

“I’m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election,” Trump wrote. “These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records.
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO.”
He continued: “Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out.”
The controversy centers around reported financial transactions between the Harris campaign and entertainment figures during the 2024 election.
According to federal filings, Beyoncé’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, received $165,000 for her appearance at an October 26 rally in Houston.
However, rumors that the singer was paid up to $11 million were publicly denied by her mother, Tina Knowles.
Meanwhile, Harpo Productions, Oprah Winfrey’s media company, was reportedly paid $1 million for coordinating a Michigan-based livestream campaign event. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network also received $500,000 from Harris’ campaign team.

Trump, however, offered different and unverified figures in his post, claiming: “Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for ‘expenses,’ to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV ‘anchor,’ Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others.”
“These people should all be prosecuted,” Trump declared.
No public evidence has emerged to support claims of unlawful activity, and it remains unclear where Trump’s cited figures originated.
Legal experts have yet to weigh in on whether the payments in question violate campaign finance laws or federal endorsement rules.

Representatives for Kamala Harris, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Al Sharpton have not publicly responded to the accusations. The Harris campaign has also not issued an official statement as of the time of writing.
The controversy adds a new dimension to ongoing debates over celebrity involvement in political campaigns and the boundaries of lawful campaign finance practices.
