Local reports suggest that the boy was attacked and seriously injured by a shark after being pulled onto the boat.

Paramedics responded quickly to West Beach to treat a 16-year-old victim and control bleeding before transporting him to Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The boy’s father, Michael Ness, recounted the terrifying moment when his son screamed for help as the shark bit him, prompting him to intervene and pry the shark’s mouth open to free his son.

Despite the traumatic experience, the boy expressed a surprising desire to return to fishing, asking his father if they could go back out the following day.

The victim, attacked around 1:40 pm, is currently in stable condition following the harrowing ordeal.

The great white shark involved in the attack was estimated to be approximately 6 feet in length.

This incident comes just a day after another shark attack in Australia, where a man was bitten at the Bombie Surfing Spot in Western Australia.

Authorities were unaware of the attack until the victim arrived at the hospital for treatment, where he was admitted and is now in stable condition.

The local community, particularly beachgoers and surfers, has been urged to exercise extra caution and respect beach closures following these recent shark encounters.
