Madison Bergmann and her fiancé, Sam Hickman, have decided to call off their wedding following revelations of Bergmann’s inappropriate relationship with a fifth-grade student in Wisconsin.
A friend of Hickman, speaking to The Post, disclosed that the wedding, initially planned for July, has been indefinitely postponed due to the distress caused by Bergmann’s actions.

The couple decided to cancel their wedding plans, realizing it would be impossible to move forward given the circumstances.
Their wedding page on The Knot has been removed, indicating the severe impact of Bergmann’s actions on their relationship.

Hickman, understandably devastated, feels embarrassed, upset, and betrayed by Bergmann’s involvement with a child.
The friend explained that Hickman struggles to accept the shocking news and finds it difficult to discuss the situation.
Bergmann’s misconduct came to light after the victim’s parents discovered incriminating text messages exchanged between Bergmann and their son, leading to her arrest.

Allegations suggest that Bergmann engaged in inappropriate activities with the boy during school hours, as evidenced by texts expressing her enjoyment of their encounters.
Charging documents also mention a folder found in Bergmann’s possession containing handwritten notes detailing the extent of their interactions.

While the exact duration of the abuse remains unclear, investigators learned that Bergmann obtained the boy’s phone number from his mother in December, around the time of her engagement to Hickman.
Bergmann, a 24-year-old teacher, was subsequently placed on administrative leave and is prohibited.
Following the victim’s father storming into River Crest Elementary School with printed conversations, an investigation was initiated into Madison Bergmann’s actions.
The exchanged texts between Bergmann and the student detailed their encounters within the school premises during lunch breaks or after school, explicitly mentioning her enjoyment of physical contact and “making out,” as stated in the charging documents.
Further evidence was discovered when police found a folder in Bergmann’s possession with handwritten notes about their physical interactions under the victim’s name.
The duration of the abuse remains uncertain, although Bergmann admitted to investigators that she received the boy’s phone number from his mother in December, coinciding with her engagement to Sam Hickman, as indicated on her social media.
Subsequently, Bergmann was placed on administrative leave and restricted from contacting any students, parents, or staff within the Hudson School District, as announced by district authorities on the day of her arrest.
Formally charged with first-degree child sexual assault, Bergmann was released on a $25,000 signature bond pending further legal proceedings.
