Pop superstar Taylor Swift’s summer ended on a sour note, as a new national poll revealed that fewer Americans view her favourably than former President Donald Trump.
The New York Times/Siena College poll from Sept. 11-16 showed Trump earning a 47% favourability rating following Swift’s endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

Despite this, Trump and Harris had higher unfavourable ratings than Swift, with Trump viewed negatively by 50% and Harris by 48%. Swift, by contrast, was viewed unfavourably by 34% of respondents, while 22% expressed no opinion. Swift remained popular among Democrats, with 70% holding a favourable view of her, compared to 41% of independents and 23% of Republicans.

Swift’s endorsement of Harris came shortly after Republican VP nominee JD Vance made remarks about childless women. Swift declared her support for Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” who offers “calm and not chaos.”

In her Instagram post, Swift, who jokingly referred to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady,” attached a photo of herself with her Ragdoll cat, Benjamin Button, from her 2023 *Time* Person of the Year photoshoot.
