A striking image of a tangled US flag that appears to resemble an angel has convinced many on the internet that a higher power protected former President Donald Trump during an assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
Video shared online shows Old Glory twisted into a distinctive silhouette, sparking reactions from attendees and social media commentators.
“The flag got tangled today at the Trump rally before Trump came on stage. Looks like an angel,” wrote X user @TheWakeninq alongside a clip of the flag moving in the wind. The spectacular video, viewed more than 8 million times, quickly drew hundreds of comments from people convinced it was a sign.
“The Holy Spirit was there protecting him yesterday,” one person responded.
“We are living in historic times! The fingerprints of the divine all over,” another echoed.
“I just got goosebumps,” a third user admitted. Others, meanwhile, contended that the flag looked like a bald eagle — America’s national bird symbolizing strength and freedom.
