Sylvester Stallone Praises Trump as “Second George Washington” at America First Policy Conference
Palm Beach, Fla. — Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone lauded President-elect Donald Trump as the “second George Washington” during a speech at the America First Policy Conference held at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday night
The 78-year-old actor, known for his iconic Rocky movie series, drew parallels between Trump’s political journey and themes from his films while addressing a star-studded audience.
Stallone invoked the opening scene of the original Rocky film, describing how a mural of Jesus overlooks a boxing ring in a dilapidated church. “At that moment, [Rocky] was a chosen person, and that’s how I began the journey,” Stallone said, tying the narrative to Trump. “Just like President Trump,” he added, prompting cheers from the audience.
Calling Trump a “mythical character,” Stallone expressed amazement at Trump’s recent election victory. “This individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody could’ve pulled off what he pulled off, so I’m in awe,” the actor said.
Stallone then likened Trump’s campaign to the American Revolution and compared him to the nation’s first president. “When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world,” Stallone remarked. “Guess what? We got the second George Washington.”
He concluded his speech by congratulating Trump and welcoming him on stage, further cementing the actor’s admiration for the president-elect.
Stallone and Trump’s relationship dates back years, with speculation during Trump’s first term that Stallone might lead the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Mar-a-Lago event featured an array of notable Trump allies and newly announced members of his administration, including Tulsi Gabbard, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Elon Musk. Trump highlighted their contributions during his speech. Other prominent attendees included Cheryl Hines, Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Tucker Carlson.
The gala was not only a celebration of Trump’s election victory but also a showcase of the figures shaping his upcoming term, drawing attention to his “America First” agenda.
