Supermodel Paulina Porizkova is marking her 60th year with a candid reflection on body image, aging, and self-acceptance—sharing unfiltered photos on Instagram that contrast the polished with the personal.
In a dual-photo post shared Monday, the Czech-born, Swedish-raised model highlighted the stark difference between a sun-drenched vacation shot in a white bikini and a modest bathroom selfie in nude undergarments, gray hair visible.

“This is me. Vacation, pretty light, posing for a shot,” she captioned the first image, which shows her standing confidently in front of a scenic backdrop.
The second image told a different story: “This is also me,” she wrote. “Home, not great light, not posing.”

The former Estée Lauder spokesperson used the post to reflect on the complexities of maintaining wellness and beauty through the decades.

“This is 60,” she began. “This is 60 years of sometimes healthy eating, sometimes not. 60 years of sometimes working out, sometimes not. 60 years of doing the right things followed by doing the wrong things and over again and again.”
Porizkova noted that each decade brought new lessons—and unlearning.

“Just as I think I’ve figured it out, everything changes and I have to start again,” she wrote. “The beauty of 60 is that now I understand the importance is IN the lesson, not passing the exam.”
It’s not the first time the model has spoken out about the realities of aging in an industry long dominated by youth.

“I feel like we’re so scared of wrinkles,” she said during a January appearance on NBC’s Today show. “Have you noticed that? We’re so terrified of wrinkles because I suppose wrinkles make us no longer relevant, no longer sexy, no longer desirable.”
“As women, that has been sort of our calling card — it’s tagged with us for such a long time,” she said. “And I keep looking at wrinkles — mine, yours, any woman that I see — and I think, ‘It’s your map of life.’ Why would you want to erase it?”

Porizkova, who rose to fame as a cover model in the 1980s and later became a symbol of ageless beauty, has used her platform in recent years to challenge outdated beauty standards.
Her post comes on the heels of personal milestones. Earlier this month, she announced her engagement to television producer Jeff Greenstein, showrunner of Will & Grace. The couple went public with their relationship in May 2023.

Porizkova was previously married to The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The couple wed in 1989 and shared two sons—Jonathan, 31, and Oliver, 27—before separating in 2018. Ocasek died in 2019.

As she embraces this new chapter of life and love, Porizkova’s message is resonating with many who see aging not as a decline, but as a deepening.
“Wrinkles are not the enemy,” she has said. “They are the evidence that we lived.”
