Clark Brewster, representing Daniels, revealed to CNN on Monday that the 45-year-old was “paralyzed with fear” before testifying for two days about her alleged affair with Trump during his criminal hush money trial in New York.

Brewster expressed Daniels’ apprehension about security concerns in New York, saying, “She wore a bulletproof vest every day until she got to the courthouse.” Despite this precaution, photographs from outside the court showed no protective attire Daniels wore.

In addition to her concerns about safety, Daniels reportedly experienced emotional distress, with Brewster stating that she “cried herself to sleep” before her lengthy testimonies last Tuesday and Thursday.

Brewster emphasized Daniels’ apprehension about potential threats, asserting, “She was paralyzed with fear — not of taking the stand or telling her story, but what might some nut might do to her,” indicating his genuine concern for her safety.

During her testimony, Daniels admitted to harbouring animosity towards Trump but denied allegations of attempting to extort money from him. She asserted that her primary motive for disclosing her encounter with the then-married Trump in 2006 was to “get the story out.”

Trump faces charges related to allegedly orchestrating a payment of $130,000 to Daniels through his lawyer, Michael Cohen, as part of an effort to influence the 2016 election.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records concerning this payment and subsequent attempts to conceal it in his business records throughout 2017.
