Stormy Daniels’ Husband Contemplates Leaving U.S. if Trump Acquitted in NY v. Trump Case
Stormy Daniels’s husband, Barrett Blade, discussed the potential for him and his wife to leave the U.S. if former President Donald Trump is acquitted in the N.Y. v. Trump case.
Blade made these remarks during an appearance on CNN, expressing concerns about the implications for Daniels if Trump were to be found not guilty.
The case centres around allegations that Daniels was paid $130,000 to remain silent about an alleged extramarital encounter with Trump, which he has consistently denied.
Trump has entered a plea of not guilty. The case focuses on the alleged falsification of business records related to the payment.
Blade highlighted the possibility that if Trump is acquitted, the situation could worsen for Daniels.
Given the potential ramifications, he suggested that such an outcome might prompt them to consider leaving the country.
Even if Trump were to be found guilty, Blade noted, Daniels would still likely face backlash. He anticipated that Trump supporters would blame her for his conviction, indicating a lack of resolution regardless of the trial’s outcome.
Blade wanted closure, emphasizing that they wanted to move on. Daniels, in particular, is eager to put the ordeal behind her and focus on the future.
During the trial proceedings, Daniels provided detailed testimony about her alleged encounter with Trump at a Lake Tahoe hotel in 2006.
However, some reports described her demeanour as fast-paced and occasionally veering off-topic, prompting judicial intervention to address unnecessary details.
The possibility of leaving the country due to political reasons is not unprecedented. Several celebrities, including Chelsea Handler, Snoop Dogg, Miley Cyrus, Samuel L. Jackson, Barbra Streisand, and Bryan Cranston, have threatened to do so during Trump’s presidency.
However, many of these individuals, including “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg, ultimately chose to remain in the U.S. despite previous statements about leaving.
Goldberg recently reaffirmed her commitment to staying in the country despite past remarks suggesting otherwise. This was in response to Trump’s social media post mocking her previous comments about leaving if he won the 2016 election.
