Paige Jordae Howard, the ex-partner of Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, has shut down viral rumors claiming the NBA player requested to pay $1 million upfront for 18 years of child support for their daughter, Aubri Summer Edwards.
In a statement to The Shade Room, Howard clarified: “There are no court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms.” She also addressed the speculation in a now-expired Instagram Story, questioning, “Where are these lies coming from?”
How the Rumor Started
The claims reportedly originated from an X (formerly Twitter) post alleging that Edwards, 23, told a judge he wanted to prepay 18 years of child support in a lump sum.
The post, which gained nearly 2 million views, did not name Howard. Another user later claimed Edwards had already paid $1,080,000 upfront—another assertion without verified proof.
Howard Fires Back at “Gold Digger” Allegations
Howard, who describes herself on Instagram as a CEO, brand ambassador, and artist, also dismissed “nasty comments” about her being a “gold digger.”
In her Instagram videos, she emphasized that the fathers of her children—including rapper Lil Baby and now Edwards—are successful, but she does not rely on them financially.
“There is no telling you guys that I’m not a gold digger… The only thing that irritates me is I read comments that say you kept the baby for a check,” she said.
Edwards’ Paternity & Past Controversy
Edwards has petitioned a Georgia court to determine paternity regarding Howard’s child.
This follows previous allegations from another woman, Paige Jordae, who accused Edwards of offering her $100,000 for an abortion in 2023.
Edwards later apologized on X, stating his comments were made “in the heat of the moment” and did not reflect his true beliefs.
Meanwhile, Edwards and his girlfriend, Shannon, welcomed their daughter Aislynn in March 2024. Shannon also shares a son, Krue, with rapper Chief Keef.
Anthony Edwards has not publicly addressed the latest rumors.
