Ryanair has warned its passengers sternly, urging them to adhere strictly to the airline’s luggage rules or risk being turned away at the gate.

Popular airlines like Ryanair, TUI, Jet2, easyJet, and Aer Lingus each enforce distinct hand luggage rules, creating challenges for travellers when packing their bags.

Passengers booking with Ryanair are entitled to a small personal bag at no extra cost. However, this bag must fit under the seat in front and adhere to size specifications of 40 x 20 x 25cm.

Travellers seeking an additional bag must be prepared to pay extra. Upgrading to Priority and 2 Cabin Bags allows passengers to board early and carry a small personal bag and a 10kg wheelie bag onboard.

Priority passengers can bring a 10kg wheelie bag measuring 55x40x20cm. Non-priority passengers can opt for Ryanair-approved bags available from €15.

Should Priority options be unavailable, passengers can purchase a 10kg Check-in Bag. It’s crucial to note that failing to comply with checked luggage restrictions may lead to denied boarding.

Ryanair imposes weight limits of either 10kg or 20kg for checked bags, depending on the selected option. Oversized bags exceeding 80 x 120 x 120 cm will incur extra charges.

Exceeding weight limits can result in fees of up to €13 per kilo over the specified limit. Non-compliant passengers may be barred from boarding if they refuse to pay these fees.

Passengers flying with Ryanair must take their checked bags to the airport check-in desk before security or risk additional fees at the gate, according to Mirror.co.uk.

Ryanair emphasises on its website that failure to pay gate bag fees will result in denial of boarding. This policy aims to ensure smooth boarding procedures and adherence to luggage regulations.

Antler, a luxury suitcase brand, currently offers discounted rates on cabin bags compatible with Ryanair’s size guidelines, providing options for travellers needing suitable luggage.

Aerolite is another brand offering Ryanair-compatible hand luggage and cabin bags, with discounted items available starting from €27.

Before travelling, passengers are advised to verify their bag’s specifications on the Ryanair website to avoid any last-minute complications.

Adequate preparation time should be allocated before travelling to address luggage issues, such as purchasing new bags that comply with Ryanair’s regulations.

Ryanair’s stringent enforcement of luggage rules underscores the airline’s commitment to smooth operations and passenger safety.

Travelers are urged to stay updated on airline policies and pack their bags accordingly to avoid disruptions and ensure a hassle-free travel experience.
