Ryanair Introduces New Route from Belfast to Malta in $700m Mediterranean Investment
Ryanair has launched a new route from Belfast to Malta as part of its $700 million regional investment.
The airline has recently confirmed its commitment to Malta by announcing a new Belfast-Malta route. This announcement was made on Wednesday, along with releasing the airline’s most extensive summer schedule for Malta so far. It is worth noting that this expanded schedule now includes new routes from Norwich and Rome to the island.
To mark the introduction of these three new routes for the summer of 2024, Ryanair has initiated a special three-day seat sale, offering fares starting from just €24.99, available immediately.
Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “As Malta’s leading airline, Ryanair is thrilled to unveil its largest ever schedule for S24, featuring three new routes connecting Malta to Belfast, Norwich, and Rome. This expansion provides Maltese citizens and visitors with increased options for weekend getaways and summer vacations, all at the most competitive fares in Europe.”
He further emphasised Ryanair’s dedication to offering superior travel experiences at affordable rates, highlighting the $700 million investment in the island and the remarkable 22% traffic growth. This investment underscores Ryanair’s commitment to fostering tourism growth and enhancing connectivity in Malta.
The introduction of the Belfast-Malta route follows closely on the heels of Ryanair’s recent announcement regarding three new winter routes to Lanzarote in Spain, Porto in Portugal, and Turin in Italy, in addition to its existing 16 routes across Europe.
