Revenue Officials Seize €600,000 Worth of Cannabis in Dublin Raids, Three Arrested

Dublin’s Revenue officials have carried out two separate raids resulting in the seizure of cannabis worth over €600,000.

The operations were part of a coordinated effort that involved the Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), DMR North Central Divisional Drugs Unit, and the K District Drugs Unit.

The raids carried out based on intelligence, yielded a total of 30.5kg of cannabis. This significant haul underscores the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and organized crime in the region.

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizures. One man, aged in his 30s, was apprehended after 27kg of herbal cannabis was discovered. He is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Separately, two individuals, one a juvenile and the other in his 20s, were arrested following the seizure of 3.5kg of herbal cannabis. They are currently held at a Dublin Garda station under the same legislation.

The successful operations highlight the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies to disrupt drug trafficking networks and prevent harmful substances from reaching communities. Such interceptions play a crucial role in safeguarding public safety and tackling the illicit drug trade.
